Emma started riding in England at the age of three and immediately fell in love with horses. Throughout her child hood to her late teens she competed in jumping, fox-hunting and studied horsemanship in the British Pony Club. At the age of eighteen Emma moved to the States and starting working for Olympic dressage rider, Edith Master.
She then relocated to California working in the veterinary field and eventually back to her love of jumping working with John Ducharme and Lise Quintero at Stoney Hill Farm, there she received a priceless education working in reproduction, grooming model hunters and Grand Prix jumpers.
Over her 30 plus year career she has operated her own training business ranging from working with problem horses to starting colts, coaching clients of all levels and traveling to shows. She has a love for all breeds but there is a special place in her heart for thoroughbreds. Emma specializes in helping people manage and connect with this sensitive and highly intelligent breed.
In 2003 noticing an overall decline in horsemanship, and searching for more, Emma was introduced to Buck Brannaman and has been practicing and sharing his philosophy ever since.
After a hiatus from the horse industry and now observing a desire from many riders to improve the relationship with their horses, Emma is eager to return and share her passion of strengthening the connection between horse and rider from to ground up, teaching simple skills to achieve rewarding results whenever we step in the saddle.

Clinics will be entirely on the ground and begin with the way we enter the stall, the energy with which we approach and how we physically interact both in touch and body language that show our horses how to interact with us. Every step from haltering to grooming and tacking will be covered and reviewed in depth… watching the subtleties and catching the nuances of equine behavior.
Each person will have the opportunity to practice and perfect their grounding and relaxation techniques and improve their confidence, connection and relationship with their horses. Everyone will be asked to demonstrate their handling skills and are encouraged to ask questions. The connection to handling and riding will be addressed and explained in depth.
The relationship, connection and attention given to the horses will be paramount in the individual sessions and handlers will be expected to practice supervised and given pointers to improve. Individual sessions are in addition to a group clinic environment to help each person address their specific needs with their horses.

The desired outcome will be a deeper connection with and respect for the horse. An ability to protect and guide your horse in a way that they can understand not only on the ground but in the tack. Harmonious interaction and mindful practice of these techniques can alleviate anxiety for both horse and rider at clinics, competitions, and any other environment in which the horses and people may feel stressed.
Happy and relaxed horses experience fewer health problems, have less injury and thrive emotionally and mentally in their jobs. These horses also live longer and happier lives with their human counterparts. The goal is to help every horse find their peace and every human to find joy with their horses.
